This Halloween pumpkin mani is my entry for Chez-Delaney contest, my sister in law loved it, so I did her nails ^_^.
The Day of the Dead (day of the deceased)or (day of the departed) or (All Soul's day).
In Mexico we celebrate with a big offering of food (all kinds of food, candies, flowers, candles and lots of drinks) for our souls, our dear family and friends that we've lost.
On these special days of the year Oct 31, and Nov 1, 2, 3, they are coming for a visit :)
This is a "Indian" poem from North America, which reflect perfectly the ambiance of this day :
Note: UPDATE, this poem is attributed to Mary E Frye, written in 1932.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on the snow.
I am the sunlight on the ripened grain.
I am the gentle Autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush,
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry:
I am not there, I did not die.
